Queen Aussie Hibiscus (Hibiscus rosa-sinensis)
Tropical hibiscus as known as Chinese hibiscus. Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is not to be confused with Hibiscus syriacus, commonly known as Rose of Sharon, which is a different species. Hibiscus can be a stunning addition to gardens or as a potted plant.
Flowers:
Known for its large, showy flowers. Varieties can have flowers in shades of red, pink, orange, yellow, or white.
Leaves:
Dark green, glossy leaves that are generally ovate or lance-shaped. Some are variegated.
Growth Form:
It can be grown as a shrub or trained into a small tree. The plant can reach a height of 3 to 15 feet. This is depending on the variety and growing conditions.
Sunlight:
Thrives in full sunlight.
Soil:
Well-draining soil is ideal.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Allow soil to dry between watering.
Temperature:
It prefers warm temperatures and is sensitive to frost. Protect it from cold temperatures, and consider growing it in containers in cold climates.
Fertilizing:
Feed regularly during the growing season with a balanced.
Pruning:
Prune to shape the plant and encourage bushier growth. Pinch back the tips to promote lateral branching.

Watch out for pests like aphids and spider mites. Treat with insecticidal soap if needed.
