Abutilon, commonly known as Flowering Maple or Chinese Lanterns. Abutilon adds a tropical touch to gardens with its colorful flowers. With good care, it can be a rewarding addition to both garden and containers.
Description:
Abutilon features maple-like leaves and produces bell-shaped flowers in various colors. The flowers hang in clusters, resembling small lanterns. The plant can range in height from 2 to 10 feet, depending on the variety.
Planting:
Plant Abutilon in well-draining soil ammended with organic matter. It thrives in a slightly acidic to neutral pH. Choose a location with partial shade to full sun, depending on your specific climate.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water regularly, especially during dry periods.
Sunlight:
Abutilon prefers partial to full sun. In hotter climates, some afternoon shade can be beneficial to prevent stress on the plant.
Fertilizing:
