Krishna Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum)
Tulsi basil is a annual to tender perennial small plant to large bush. Krishna Tulsi, also known as Holy Basil, is a sacred herb in Hindu culture. It has dark green or purple leaves with a distinct aroma.
Sunlight:
Plant Tulsi in a location with full sunlight.
Soil:
Use well-draining soil. Adding organic matter can enhance the soil quality, thus helping overall growth.
Watering:
Keep the soil consistently moist. Avoid overwatering, as Tulsi doesn't like waterlogged conditions.
Temperature:
Krishna Tulsi prefers warm temperatures. If you're growing it outdoors, protect it from frost.
Pruning:
Pinch off the flowers regularly to encourage bushier growth.
Fertilizing:
Feed the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer every 2-4 weeks during the growing season.
Pests:
Keep an eye out for pests like aphids or spider mites. Insecticidal soap or neem oil can be used as a natural remedy.
Harvesting:
Harvest leaves when the plant reaches a reasonable size. Regular harvesting encourages new growth.
