Hyssop (Hyssopus official)
Hyssop is a small perennial evergreen herb,grown for its aromatic leaves and flowers. Blooming during summer months. Flowers attract loads of beneficial insects. Hyssop is a fragrant herb with attractive flowers that belongs to the mint family.
Sunlight:
Plant hyssop in a location that receives full sunlight. It prefers at least 6 hours of direct sunlight per day.
Soil:
Hyssop grows well in well-draining soil with a slightly alkaline to neutral pH. It is adaptable to various soil types.
Watering:
Hyssop is drought-tolerant once established. Water moderately, allowing the soil to dry out between waterings. Avoid overwatering to prevent root rot.
Fertilization:
Hyssop is not a heavy feeder. A light application of balanced fertilizer in spring is usually sufficient.
Pruning:
Trim the plant regularly to encourage bushy growth and to maintain its shape. You can also deadhead spent flowers to promote continuous blooming.
Spacing:
